About Dr. Chien: Dr. Chien is a veteran pilot with Instrument and Multi-engine ratings, a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), and a Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII).

He is a former United States Navy Pilot, where he flew E3 mutli-engine aircraft in the Pacific. He owns a Piper Seneca II turbo-charged twin-engined airplane.

Dr. Chien is a founding board member and past chairman of Lifeline Pilots, the volunteer pilot organization providing free air transportation for medical purposes in private aircraft for those in need in the Midwest United States.

Dr. Chien and his wife and two daughters live in Central Illinois.
